For its first participation in this prestigious event, Alonso Mercader will present two innovations that will revolutionise the sector.
For the 2023 edition, Metstrade is focusing on key issues such as the environment, technology, diversity and skills development in the marine industry. In this context, Alonso Mercader is proud to present its innovative Airflow technique, which is particularly suitable for upholstering boat interiors.
The Airflow technique involves the direct coating of a 3D fabric, which becomes the base for the artificial leather, offering significant advantages such as
– Reduced energy consumption: contributes to the environment and reduces running costs.
– Reduced heat exposure: maintaining the integrity of the product and extending its life.
– Elimination of the foaming process: simplifying production and improving efficiency.
– Resistance to hydrolysis: Polyester 3D fabric is not affected by hydrolysis, unlike conventional polyurethane or polyether foams.
As part of its continuous technological innovation, Alonso Mercader will launch a new product during its participation in Metstrade 2023: Akryloop-Eclipse.
This is the first acrylic knitted fabric, 100% solution dyed, ideal for outdoor use on boats thanks to its elasticity that adapts to different shapes.
During the Akryloop-Eclipse production process, the colour penetrates the entire fibre and does not just remain on the outer surface, creating a UV-resistant acrylic yarn that not needs additional substances.
The result is that the colours will not fade over time, are water and bacteria repellent and easy to maintain and clean.
